Oakland Military Institute (OMI) is a college preparatory charter school located in 3877 Lusk Street, Oakland, California, United States. It was founded in 2001 by then Mayor Jerry Brown as the Oakland Military Institute College Preparatory Academy. From its inception until in 2007, the school was located on the site of the Oakland Army Base, moving to its present location in Lusk Street on May 18, 2007.

As a college preparatory military school, Oakland Military offers a robust, fully accredited academic program strengthened by military discipline in a structured environment. Oakland Military Institute deemphasizes “reform school” and “boot camp” normally associated with most college preparatory military schools and instead focuses on success and excellence bought about by an effective scholastic program.

In 2007, Oakland Military held commencement for its first graduating class of 61 seniors at the Lake Merritt Bandstand. Of the graduating class, 22 were continuously enrolled since their 7th grade year. Eighty percent of the first graduating class was accepted to four year colleges and universities.
