Wentworth Military Academy and College is a private, coeducational, non-denominational college-preparatory school located in 1880 Washington Ave Lexington, Missouri, United States. It was founded as Wentworth Male Academy in 1880 by Stephen G. Wentworth at the aftermath of the Civil War Battle of the Hemp Bales, the school as an all-male memorial institution for his twenty-seven-year-old son William who died in May 1879. In 1882, Wentworth became a military school and subsequently adopted the name Wentworth Military Academy in 1890.

Wentworth is one of the only five military junior colleges in the nation. It is the oldest military school west of the Mississippi and its campus is on the National Register of Historic Places.

As a college-preparatory school, Wentworth offers military training and structure that teaches cadets important skills they carry with them the rest of their lives, skills such as self-discipline, determination, confidence and the thirst for knowledge and success.
