Valley Forge Military Academy and College (VFMA&C) is a private, coeducational, non-denominational Christian college-preparatory school located in 1001 Eagle Road, Wayne, Pennsylvania, United States 19087. It was founded in Devon, Pennsylvania by Lieutenant General Milton G. Baker in 1928. In 1929, a fire devastated the original campus and subsequently the school was moved to its present 100-acre location in Wayne, Pennsylvania, just 15 miles west of Philadelphia.
As a college preparatory military school, Valley Forge offers discipline and structure that is most needed by middle school teenagers and is oftentimes unavailable in most schools or even at home. Since 1928, a Valley Forge education has been built around subjects most schools have forgotten to address: character development, motivation and the thirst for success, physical development and leadership—the very skills students need to master in order to rise to the top of whatever field they choose to pursue. The academics at Valley Forge are highly demanding and competitive. There is a mandatory daily two-hour study period from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm each night in the students' barracks buildings.
Military training is an important part of the education at Valley Forge, as it is the only private junior military college in the nation where the entire college student body are cadets. Valley Forge is the only military college that caters to all branches of the US military through the ROTC and the Prepster program.
