Marine Military Academy (MMA) is a private, non-denominational, college-preparatory military school located in 320 Iwo Jima Blvd., Harlingen, Texas, in the lower Rio Grande Valley, United States. It was founded in 1965 by Captain William A. Gary of the USMC, who believed that Marine Corps concepts of leadership and discipline were adaptable to preparatory school education. The academy was established on the site of the former Harlingen Army Air Field which closed in the early 1960s. The adjacent runways became the Valley International Airport.

Marine Military Academy is a nonprofit institution governed by a Board of Trustees. It is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, the Southern Association of Independent Schools, the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools, and the Association of Military Colleges and Schools of the United States. The school has over 2000 alumni who assist in recruiting, development of school programs and fund raising.

As a college-preparatory school, Marine Military Academy features a structured, disciplined, and motivating environment where students can have the best opportunity to develop physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. Academic excellence is the school’s first priority: by providing a full range of courses supported by a first-rate faculty, cadets are ensured that they will be fully prepared to move on to the university or college of their choice. Additionally the Academy stresses the importance of wellness through a vigorous fitness program made up of athletics and activities to develop the physical fitness of all cadets.

Finally, as a premier military school, the academy promotes development of personal values such as courage, self-discipline, responsibility, character, leadership and esprit de corps and a strong devotion to country through military principles and training. The Marine Military Academy is the first to establish the first Marine Corps Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps (MCJROTC) in the nation.
