The Commando Training Centre Royal Marines (CTCRM) is a military college handling initial officer training for the Royal Marines of the British Armed Forces. It is located in Devon, nearby Lympstone, straddling Exeter and Exmouth, in southwestern England.
The Commando Training Centre Royal Marines is the only element in the British military officer training system to train officers and other ranks at the same location, delivering entry-level training to recruits and officers of the Royal Marines, Royal Marines Reserve and other branches of the United Kingdom armed forces, as well as specialist training for Non Commissioned Officers (NCO).
Officer candidates are identified by the Admiralty Interview Board, in addition to the Potential Officers Course (POC) which the officer candidate must also pass, and which includes among other things, tests of leadership. Other chosen candidates need to pass the Potential Royal Marine Course (PRMC), in addition to the general academic, medical and interview requirements for candidates of the British Armed Forces.
